Talent, Leadership, and bringing music to our community. These are the qualities we celebrate with the David L. Benjamin Music Scholarship. Established in 2002 the David Benjamin scholarship is awarded each year to a graduating senior at Gloucester high school who has excelled in the instrumental or vocal music programs at Gloucester High School.

Many of you know David as a former clarinetist and business manager of the Cape Ann Symphony. But David was also a dedicated music teacher in the Gloucester Public Schools. He taught music at the elementary school level and directed the elementary and middle school bands for over thirty years.Many of the musicians in Gloucester today have had their musical talents enriched by David.

David has dedicated his life to music education and bringing music to our community. This is our way of saying, “Thank You Dave!” Help us celebrate Dave’s many contributions to our community while acknowledging our talented high school musicians with a contribution to the scholarship fund.
